HP JBT Commission Syllabus 2025-26
1. Child Development and Pedagogy
This section focuses on understanding the principles of growth and development, developmental theories, the relationship between language and thought, and teaching as a profession. It also includes topics such as the process of teaching and learning, evaluation and assessment, the role of ICT in education, institutional frameworks in education, and important educational policies like NCF and NEP.
2. Psychology
This subject covers the fundamentals of educational psychology, development of the learner, learning theories, mental health and adjustment, personality types, intelligence, emotional intelligence, creativity, motivation, individual differences, and concept formation with its educational applications.
3. Social Science
This part includes Indian History, World and Indian Geography, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, and General Knowledge. The focus is on developing awareness of socio-political systems, historical perspectives, and economic structures relevant to India and the world.
4. Himachal Pradesh General Knowledge
This section includes detailed knowledge about the geography, history, culture, economy, politics, and current affairs of Himachal Pradesh. It aims to enhance understanding of the state’s local heritage and administrative framework.
5. Everyday Science
The science section consists of topics related to daily life science applications. It includes commonly used materials, states of matter, motion and its applications, work, power and energy, electric current and its effects, living organisms, cell as the fundamental unit of life, human physiology, food and nutrition, and microorganisms.
6. General Mathematics
This section includes Number System, Squares and Cubes, Exponents and Radicals, Fractions and Decimals, HCF and LCM, Simplification, Average, Percentage, Profit, Loss and Discount, Simple and Compound Interest, Ratio and Proportion, Partnership, Work and Time, Pipes and Cisterns, Speed, Time and Distance, Age Problems, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Geometry, and Algebra.
7. Logical Reasoning
Logical Aptitude tests a candidate’s ability to think critically and analytically. Topics include Analogy Test, Classification, Alphabet and Word Formation, Logical Sequence of Words, Coding-Decoding, Direction Test, Blood Relations, Ranking and Seating Arrangement, Series Test, Mathematical Reasoning, Mathematical Operations, Missing Numbers, Cube and Dice, Venn Diagram, Logical Deduction, and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
8. General English
This section is designed to test grammatical accuracy and comprehension skills. It includes Spotting Errors, Sentence Completion, Sentence Transformation, Sentence Improvement, Active and Passive Voice, Direct and Indirect Speech, Synonyms and Antonyms, Idioms and Phrases, One Word Substitutions, Spelling Errors, Cloze Test, and Reading Comprehension.
